Former AOL Executive Links With Specialized Human Capital Services Firm
Cleveland, Ohio May 3, 2004 Talent acquisition and human capital consulting firm,
highbridge associates, recently enhanced its client services offerings with the formation of its new Technology Assessment and Review Program. As part of this new program, the company today announced that Robert E. Horton, a prominent technology expert and former executive vice president and COO of America Online Technology Organization, will lead the program. Horton will assist
highbridge associates' clients with comprehensive reviews of the human capital employed in their technology areas, with the objective of evaluating the match-up of their talent with the technology currently employed. The review can also include assessing the technology itself and how it meshes with corporate strategies and processes currently in use. This approach was designed by
highbridge associates to deliver to clients more efficient and cost-effective technology consulting services than currently offered by large IT consulting organizations. Typically, these firms do not directly provide senior IT consultants to support internal initiatives, primarily due to their overhead that requires longer-term and more costly commitments on the part of the client. The program supports clients through three major components: Human Capital, by supporting the IT leader with assistance in talent reviews, organizational dynamics, productivity and quality improvement, outsourcing, and downsizing/rightsizing approaches; Technology, by offering assistance with process improvement, management systems design, architecture, and new system implementation;
and Strategy and Process, by offering organizational and technical troubleshooting, strategy review, and integration support for M&A activity and related events. Horton's background and experience bring valuable and pragmatic expertise to resolve
highbridge associates' client issues. Prior to starting his own consulting business, Horton served as
executive vice president and COO of AOL's central technology organization. He was responsible for the development of software products for a broad array of AOL brands, including its flagship service, AOL, and the CompuServe and Netscape brands. Prior to AOL, Horton was responsible for software development and architecture for the Process Management and Systems Division of Honeywell. Horton will draw on his successful integration experience with systems, processes, intellectual property, technology, management systems and human capital leadership to assist
highbridge clients in effectively utilizing its Technology Assessment and Review Program. "Our clients will receive extraordinary value through the Technology Assessment and Review Program by partnering with us and engaging Bob to structure their technology organizations to achieve higher efficiencies and targeted business results," noted Larry Imely, CEO of
highbridge associates. Horton graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the College of Engineering. He attended Temple University and was enrolled in the MBA program with a concentration in Management. # # # See
